This latest project from the stable of Mike Youles uses
up some of the bits left over from his earlier Sebring Coupé and
Fastbacks. His talented friend Pete Tubb has adapted a
Sprite Mark 2 shell to fit Frogeye rear wings and valence around
the original boot opening, involving a lot of leadwork. Mike is
building it for his daughter and it will have a Dan Dare (?)
type hardtop in winter and a chopped down screen in summer. The
engine has an EN40B 948 crank, rare 998 type Arrow rods and an
Alexander 7 port aluminium head (on a Mini, below). This is the
basis for a 998cc motor with twin down-draught Webers.
