Chassis No: AN5-44296 was first registered as 946 JJO in August 1960
to Morris Motors Ltd as a 'works' car.

Steel body-chassis unit completely rebuilt in 1993 by Brian Archer of Archers Garage, Birmingham - the first he built..
Fitted with fibreglass hardtop including laminated screen, Perspex rear window with vent, and purpose-made aluminium framed side windows with Perspex sliding openings. Williams & Pritchard Sebring style forward-hinging bonnet.
All sections of the bodyshell were Waxoyled. The body painted in Ford Aqua Jade (originally Leaf Green). Doors have Speedwell external door handles, small deadlocks and external mirrors. A full rollover cage with detachable door bars was built by Roll Centre.

The car was initially prepared for historic rallies and had class wins in both the Classic Marathon 1994 and the Monte Carlo Challenge, 1995. I later competed with the car in numerous hill-climbs and sprints and raced it three times at Angouleme in France, 2006 to 2009.

It is now converted back to road spec with:

1098cc 10CC engine (with the larger main bearings) duplex timing chain, Kent MD266 camshaft, balanced lightened flywheel and crankshaft, spin-on oil filter conversion, oil cooler, 12G 295 cylinder head and Shorrock C75B supercharger with 1½” SU fitted K&N filter. Maniflow 3 branch manifold and exhaust system. Aldon Ignitor electronic ignition. Repro “Healey” alloy rocker cover. Engine stabiliser bar.

Toyota 5-speed gearbox conversion with shortened propshaft and modified clutch plate, 3.9 LSD (Quaife), Peter May competition half shafts, Panhard rod, Armstrong adjustable rear shock absorbers, genuine Sebring front and rear hubs (fine thread) with modified Triumph Spitfire discs and Vauxhall Carlton Estate rear calipers (as approved by the FIA as an alternative to the original (unavailable) Girling Type 10s). Rear brakes are 8” drums (from Riley 1.5 as on original Sebrings). AP  brake servo. Negative camber trunnions. ⅝” anti-roll bar, with Nylatron bushes. Sebring pedal box with Girling master cylinders. Fly-off handbrake. New front springs.

5” front, and 5½” rear wire wheels fitted with Uniroyal 175/70 X 13 tyres. Also 5” spare. Another 5" spare, with no tyre.

Facet fuel pump. Oil catch tank. Electric cooling fan. Heater. Wheel hammer and scissor jack.

The interior is fitted with Autostorica (Ridgard) black leather seats and Luke competition 4-point seat belts; navigator’s adjustable foot rest, battery master switch. Ammeter. Map light. Mota Lita steering wheel. Hand-held fire extinguisher.

Twin spotlights with period covers. Reversing and rear fog lights. Aston quick-release fuel cap.
CTEK battery charger included. British Motor Heritage Certificate.

One year’s MOT comes with the car, expiring: 27 May 2027  (Although a “Historic” car for nil road tax purposes I felt it necessary as a modified car that it should be tested annually).
