This car, the first Tifosi SS, was built "in house" at Hall's Garage, Morton, which is near Bourne in Lincolnshire. The firm specialises in repair and restoration of MGs, and is also responsible for the open Tifosi Rana. This car was created using an original 1961 Sprite Mark 2 body-shell with quarter elliptic rear springs. I understand it has been prepared to FIA Appendix K Regulations, and is currently fitted with a balanced and lightened 1098cc engine with "fast road" camshaft, ported and polished cylinder head and 40 DCOE Weber carburation. With a straight-cut close ratio gearbox, and disc front brakes, the front suspension is fitted with poly-bushes. The project is finished off with 8-spoke replica Minilite wheels and painted in Austin-Healey Ice Blue it really looks the part.
