Anyone using their Sprite or Midget for competition use should seriously consider replacing the front stub axles with these much stronger items. Over the years there have been many failures with the original factory stub axle and I know when I was racing the guys were for ever having them crack-tested, and rarely finding one which was sound.
Available for both drum and disc brake cars, if you are interested take a look at the relevant page on Colins website.
Called Superstubs, they come complete with wheel bearings and seals, fitted with new king pin bushes reamed to the correct size. In other words - they're ready to fit.
Not cheap, but then safety rarely is, at $750 AUD a pair, on an exchange basis $200 AUD surcharge, and for the UK an extra $122 AUD for carriage. [Total cost $1072 AUD is equivalent to approx £680 as I write, ~ 27 Sept 2011]
